Do Adults Need Playtime Too? How Structured Movement Brought Mine Back (6 views)
9 Jul 2025 01:51
Hi everyone,
Watching kids play is honestly inspiring — the imagination, the energy, the joy of movement just for the sake of it. It made me realize: as adults, we don’t stop needing play… we just forget how to fit it in.
Lately, I’ve been rediscovering that through structured group classes at The Olympus Projects in Manchester. They run fitness programs themed around Greek mythology — Herculean Trials for strength, Agoge for combat-style workouts, and Aphrodite’s Quest for mobility and flow. Sounds intense, but honestly? It’s like grown-up playtime — with structure, sweat, and storytelling.
The best part? I feel more alive, focused, and even more playful with my own kids. Movement isn’t just healthy — it brings imagination back into the day.
I’m curious:
Do any of you have routines, hobbies, or even workouts that feel like “play” for grown-ups?
Would love to hear how you all keep movement and creativity alive — whether through parenting, dancing, crafting, or toys made for all ages
Warm wishes,
A parent rediscovering the joy of moving
